I have to put this out ..The mixing on these tracks are done in house and not professionally done..We sit here and tweak on them as best we can and most of the time it sounds ok enough to release to the public. we can't yet afford to send them to be mastered and have at one time sent it out to be mastered professionally..but the finished product was returned to us worse then what we could have managed to do ourselves..as one of our members put it sounded like "the life in it was striped out", we had to end up paying for it anyway - what we took away from that was that we had to make the best of our own ears and do it as best we can..we started watching video tutorials and started investing in mastering software. In the end it only improved the end result a little..turns out we hear it differently every time we listen..we both like the bottom and the bass to be heard..and the drums have to be punchy but not over powering..the songs come out so centered and mono sounding nowadays..I don't have a clue how to mix what im making into sounding something balanced and clear..
Until we can find a production and mastering team were stuck with what we can do..I spend allot of my energy in the creative aspect of the music and realy have no real passion in the mix down or engineering side of things..I only do it cause i have to and that just saps my abilities to overload..Edd does her best to fill in the gap when i can't hear whats good for the mix anymore..and that happens allot..
Thanks Edd
